Bloody Sunday Procession – Counter demonstration – January 26th 2008
The Young National Front and the National Front are calling for all its members, along with other British nationalist groups to attend a counter demonstration on January 26th 2008 from 9.30am in Glasgow. The march which is being organised by Cairde na h’Eireann group, claims to be in remembrance of the people that marched for civil rights in Londonderry in 1972. Whilst as the public enquiry into Bloody Sunday, claimed the British Army had shots fired at them, during the violence which took place, on that day. We also acknowledge the people that died on this day, but also acknowledge that the parade has been hijacked by alleged republican paramilitary groups.
We agree along with the British Government that the people of Britain should be allowed to have rights; like the rights to go shopping at Christmas and in Omagh, without the fears of being killed or maimed in a bomb blast. We agree that people should be allowed to commemorate people who have lost their lives during war, such as on Remembrance Sunday in Enniskillen, again without the fears of being killed. We believe that parades such as that on the Garvaghy Road and other such parades around the 12th July or throughout the year should be allowed to mark historic events and peoples historic rights, but either we don’t or we are not allowed, as this may offend others.
Therefore why should an event that was delayed last year, according to the BBC for having people at the front in Paramilitary attire, alleged to resemble that worn by some of the Irish Republican paramilitary groups. Also videos of the event also have hundreds of people shouting for paramilitary groups such as the P IRA, which again is illegal to support. If these people were present and allowed to attend, then surely it can be alleged and also highlight the intent of these terrorist organisations and points to the fact that they have not been disbanded and in fact still potentially cause a threat to the civil rights of British peoples freedoms and rights.
Therefore out of respect for all those killed by republican paramilitary groups, that were present at last years events we urge all members and others to come along and counter- demonstrate the march along its route.
We are calling for a peaceful demonstration and ask that we lend our support to the loyalist people and pay our respects to other innocent victims and their families killed by the republican paramilitaries, (that as stated by the BBC have attend this event) over the years which have removed their civil rights in their own country.
